RIHARD JAKOPIČ RECOGNITION
Named after Rihard Jakopič (1869-1943), an important Slovene impresionist Painter, the Rihard Jakopič Award is the highest award in the field of fine arts in Slovenia. Since 1969 it is bestowed annually to a Slovene artist. The artist is prized for her/his life opus ot the artistic achievements of the last 5 years. The winners for an award and two recognitions are selected by a special board consisting each year of new members from four institutions: Museum of Modern Art, Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Union of Slovene Fine arts Associations (ZDSLU) and the Association of Slovene Critics.
